  • Their customer service has really gone downhil lately. They're constantly engaged, then, on the rare occasion you get on the line, they take forever to answer.

Yeah i've used them before for a mech hanger. Cheap and good.
  • It appears to be a cost cutting thing. They've stopped doing 1st class delivery as standard, which is poor, as that's what lots of us use them for. Couple that with poor phone service, as they now only seem to have 2 people manning the phones, and you're going to cause problems. Alright, i guess they wan't people to use the internet over the phone, but i can't access the site at work so i use the phone.

Add to that, wrong orders, and you've got a big problem, and lost customers that'll be hard to get back...

Especially since a lot of LBSs now do pricematching (or just follow CRC's prices). Less and less reason to order from them.

i noticed that the service is getting worse recently. people have been getting the wrong things, the wheel i had built needed tensioning right out of the box, Their stock control situation is shockingly bad.

    I mainly use:
    Mtb-bitz.co.uk
    tartybikes.co.uk
    ukbikestore
    Merlin

If i can't get it from any of those guys. its ebay time.

  • they do hire a lot of scallies, not bike experts. when i called into the shop a few months back, it was a bunch of townies working in the warehouse

Interestingly enough, the best service for bike bits I find comes from ebay users.

crc are poop, they also wrongly advised me on a brake adapter, then refused to change it. and they're delivery times used to be ace, now i'm forever phoning them up after waiting 4/5 days for stuff.

If they're that bad, stop squeeling about a few quid and go to your LBS!

We don't have an LBS in Basingstoke...
Well, we have Halfords and Action Bikes but I'm reluctant to bother with neither.
