Just wondering if anyone is off to Les Gets on saturdy?

I am off there for a week with the other half but I guess some days she will just wanna chill...anyone else in a simular situation?

i'm in passport du soleil on the saturday (week sat).. gives me 5 days to ride the trails before the main group arrives and leave after the passport du soleil..

ohh!! pee on the parade why don't you [:)].

we are right next to the main lift, according to the guys the 2 main lifts are open in Les gets atm. just means we will have to ride thursday instead of doing the Swiss thing of not doing anything on a thursday.. [:)]

Champery, Pleney and Chavvannes are open from the sunday before last. The rest open the friday 29th.

Ride the chavvanes course until you've learned how to brake and have gotten used to french speed, then go play on the Pleney in Morzine.

thanks for the info, being an alps virgin i can't wait.. my riding has gone from (all the gear and no idea) & not liking to lift the wheels off the ground, to (all the gear and no idea)& getting both of the ground..

any recommended bars / food places alex?

P.s.had a look at the blog i should come over one day and lend a hand, nice to see something other than follow the bog [:)]

Bar robinson in morzine (until 8pm i think)
Dixie bar in morzine
Boomerang in Les Gets

Food:
The sandwich bar in les gets. Follow the crowds. 5 euros gets you the biggest thing you can eat.

We leave on the sunday and we are riding the passport on the sat but YER that would be cracking..

At a guess, how much would you say it costs to spend two weeks in relative comfort over in Les Gets? It sounds fantastic and I might have to save up for next year.

œ400-500? ish. Both of Tavy's trips have worked out quite economical.
