Many auto cars have a faster 0-60 acceleration time actually, less time lost through gear changes. No where near as satisfying though!

really? i've not seen any. Although i suppose the sport setting on a dsg box porbably would.
my sisters audi gets to 60 pretty fast despite its lawnmower engine, all thanks to the flappy paddles on the dsg, but in all the full auto settings it changes up far too early.

I'm just starting to learn heel-toe as I use double de-clutch on the downshifts and its soo much better. When I can do heel-toe cleanly It will be very proud, what part of your foot are you using to blip the throttle because I can't seem to find an easy position that doesn't cause me to press the brake harder than I want?

well the ball of your foot is on the brake as that requires the most force. and then whatever part of the foot feels right on the throttle. It helps if the pedals have been set up right. Most production cars are not setup for easy heel and toe as the pedals are mostly the wrong height and too far apart.

It is very easy to lock the wheels on a rear wheel drive car.
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
But a lot easier to lock them when you hit the brakes. Gearing down can spin the car. but it doesnt lock a wheel completely.

Double clutching is completely needless for general driving unless you're a complete train spotter0

i tried to learn double declutching, and found it just slwoed down the gear shifts. can't physically move my size 11's fast enough. so just learnt to shift properly without.

double declutching is completely pointless on modern cars unless you drive an HGV, heel-toe? yes ok, but silly hard in most cars and pointless in your nova.
Most of the people I know who can heel-toe effectively have learny purely for the purposes of trying to impress other men.

The heel and toeing kind of cancels out the engine braking, because the wheels don't loose energy in spinning up the engine when you downshift, something to remember when heading for a hairpin. Also from what I've heard the engine braking is quite efficient because the engine doesn't need to burn any fuel.

Odly double declutching is the only way short of shouting and alot of force to get my fiesta from 2nd to 1st if your coming up for a junction. It's not thaaat old either.0

You don't really need to double-de-clutch even when driving an HGV nowadays.0
