We played hack run.
It was essentially bulldog, except with a heck of a lot of kicking of the shins.

Sprint from one end of the pitch to the other dodging the 'on' people. You can be taken down by any means possible. I broke my arm playing take down BullDog in year 6. Consequently I then played with my pot on, and when people dared to come and 'tackle' me, a) they were nervous of re-breaking my arm, or b) thought I'd floor them with my pot.
Then at secondary school we just had gang wars, with wooden poles etc.
Good times.

in year 11 me and my little group of friends used to see how many sprogs we could fit into the maths admin room. most we got was 12.
oh and a megs game- basically we retreived a bottle top (not from the bin, honest) and a group of about 20 of us would stand in a circle kicking this bottle top trying to megs eachother. if you got megsed you would be beaten into the ground
edit: We also used to play murder ball and uni hockey a lot in P.E. ooh the fun times [8D]

I knew that one as Murder Ball. Except it wasnt a free for all, you had 2 nets and 2 teams. You had to get the ball in the opposite net by any means going.
There was also, 'Beat the Letter'. One team had to make a word, each had to take a letter, you had to catch them, beat them until they gave you their letter [if they gave it up straight away you beat them anyway], whilst they tried to get away. When you got all the letters you assembled the word and you won, then the teams swapped over.

Aha, Murder Ball is quality.
I've done the the normal rugby-type thingy, only with no rules, which is always good fun.
There is Nuts as well, basically, you play a game of football, but if someone gets Nuts'ed or handballs it, they are fair game for rugby tackling, kicking and punching until they get back to their goal.
Also fun.
