The no attention thing appears to be working. She's settled down a lot quicker tonight.
Now if I can just get her to stop opening doors...

A visit to the vet? They can put dogs to sleep for a loooong time.0

Give it one of your old jumpers to sleep with. If it can smell you it'll feel more comfortable.

i cant believe some of the advice on here!im not talking about the wisecracks either.a german shepard is an extremely intelligent dog.they require training and constant mental stimulation.they can tell the difference between a radio and their loved ones!you should begin training asap.if you give it enough physical and mental exercise during the day it should sleep.dogs should be praised for good behavior not punished for bad!kester0
-
So you don't punish your dog/s at all then?

I do, but only when he's been caught red handed. Otherwise he won't know what the hell he's been punished for.
If the ignoring technique fails you should fill up a bottle with a cap, and when the dog starts barking shout "QUIET!" at the dog while sraying it with water. Should only be done in extreme cases though.
