It's far more attractive, it's quieter, it's not full of the Morzine massiff (whom In the winter especially are the biggest bunch of posers imaginable), it has the bike park, and it's generally just more chilled and less hectic.

You can go to bars and they arn't cram packed with people telling you how they did a 40 footer (when you know damned well its about a 10 footer, cos you were tricking off it earlier). You get to chat to the bar staff and the locals more etc etc etc.

The only thing I'd take from Morzine is the convenience of getting to the rest of the PDS

Just depends what your after I guess.

yeah les gets is definitely a much prettier place, I guess the bars just depend where your mates are. Robbos is undeniabley awesome though.

You like the "bike park"? haha sorry.

But your right the main reason I goto morzine is for access to trails, I dont want to have to worry about making the 6pm pleney or getting up that little bit earlier to ride down the road to the super.

yeah, i know the jumps suck (the shed jump was pretty nice) but I like being airborne, and the trails around the PDS offer very little of that, so I tend to spend my evenings up there, last lift up, ride the jumps for a few hours then roll down into the vilalge.

I can again see why Morzine appeals if you're into your busy bars and clubs, but I'm not. I prefer to get blattered in a quiet place with just my mates around, so Les Gets suits perfectly.

And Le boomerang is still the best bar I've found, prety much anywhere, for having a good time

you worked at the boomerang though, you know the staff you dont pay their ridiculous drinks prices. Never been a fan of the place, I'll take robbos or the JG barbeque any day.

Did the jumps change must last year, they where pretty useless in 05.

The shed jump was sweet, and the big 6 pack were ok once you learn't them, all teh samller sets were abysmal.

Where is Robbo's? Don't know that one?

And to be fair to oomers, while the drink prices are damned high, they are the same as most other bars in Les Gets (Bar Bush, Irish bar etc)

Knowing the ride back up to les gets Mike suffered after we came back from chatel is reason enough for me to stay on Morzine.

Whup. Just got back. So I think Mike's just arrived.

It was wet and slippery as fck while I was there, but yesterday (when we left) the weather got infinitely better, and cornering became possible. No idea what the weather's going to be like, but if I was going back i'd take some mud tyres just in case. Weather forecasting seems more than a little iffy.

Managed to miss everyone on account of us all being wet and miserable most evenings (we were camping), and broke (hence the camping).

If you're driving there on an LPG-powered something, don't buy the LPG from E. Leclerc - it might well be only 37 cents a litre, but there's good reason for that.

Weather appears to be improving from Thursday onwards.

Next weekend is 30 degrees & the first few days of the week after, high 20's. Perfect timing for us!

Still taking the wet weather gear though!

mmm, first 4 days, solid underwater mud, then the rest of the weeks, sunburn speed and braking bumps.

Took a complete battering, got in a relationship with one of the chalet staff, and got massively hammered numerous times. Spent more than I could imagine possible.

Generally good then, back to work tomorrow
