Couple of modifications. The kitchen's been stripped out, and we're going to try to put it back in again in a way that leaves us with more room. And probably with the oven etc. accessible from outside.
I'm hoping to find a fridge for it, too, but space is a bit of a premium (there's five of us this year).
It's currently not starting, though, so i've no idea what it's going to look like by the time we get there.

I've just picked up my helmet - silver Specialized Deviant. It might have my name on the back. And half my forks are covered with rockshox stickers.

Anyone know when the lifts close? Cause I'm looking at being out there pretty late, maybe 11th to the 25th August. Or will they be closed by then?

They should still be open by then, but dont quote me.

Try ringing up one of the tour operators, they should know.

I was there for the end of August last year. Was either the week before reading or the week after it.

All lifts were open to start with, but then they closed all but the Pleney and Chevannes lifts (which apparently stay open for a while). They left the Mont-Cheri lift open, too, but I'm not sure they were supposed to.

while there are 'set' dates, they do paly it by ear to an extent, and if the weather stays fine, they will keep some of the lifts running, for the seasonnaires and locals as much as anything, but if the weatehr goes, tehy will close them..

Should be ok though, as the seasons seem to be getting later.

Pleney is only a first day track anyway [:D]

This is more for when we get stuck in the arse end of nowhere, with a big ride home in the rain/thunder/howling gales like last year.

Any decent water proof trousers will get shreded, my solution was to get some cheap (ie less tha œ20) water proof trousers in a size too big and then cut em down into shorts.

    works for me.

Exactly that, we got stuck at the bottom of the French National track in the valley, with all the lifts closed because of the thunder.

Being somewhat unprepared, we rode down the road to Montroid as it was the only way back without walking up to Avoriaz. I think it took us over 2 hours to get back in some of the worst rain & thunder i've ever seen.

I don't want to get caught out again! [:(]

Same nearly happened to me last year whilst trying to escape from Morzine. We just got the lift into Swissland in time. It stopped pretty much right after we got off.

2 Hours! You sure you went the right way?, I can usually do les lindarets to morzine in about30-40mins, theres also some cheeky offroad diversions to avoid a fair bit of the road.

Ah, see we were mapless newbies though.

And out accomodation was basically back to Morzine centre & then another 3k out the other side, up a hill.

We probably did go the wrong way, as we were all rapidly losing the will to live.

Chalet Well is indeed a biaaaaaaatch!.

Too late now but theres a track called warlord on the pleny that comes out of the woods directly opposite, we used to use that a lot to go drinking in the old basement bar at chalet well

Is warlord the one that goes down from the left side of the top lift station as you go up in the bubble?
