This is the kind of question that would have inspired me to write an angry rant. Not because I like Britney, just because it's a stupid question. Marks be damned.

Tell me about it, I swear I've slept through nearly half of some modules' lectures. We have ours in this huge flat classroom (lecturers can't see you easily) with comfy desk chair things. And it's really warm. How are you supposed to stay awake?

In my 9am ones it's usually head on the desk as soon as the lecturer starts talking, unless I've had coffee.

I usually arrive totally buzzing and endorphiny because i've been rowing from 5:30 to 8, sit down, say to the other chemists, "I'm so awake i don't think i'll ever go to sleep again" 5 minutes later i fall asleep halfway through a word and make a huge trail across my notes! However usually my GF makes me a copy if that happens!

Well, had my AS-level ICT exam today, and it seemed a tad easy, much easier than any of the ones we practised, everyone said it was easy. Now I'm hoping this doesn't mean that I answered all the questions wrong and that I've failed. Hopefully I'll have got a good grade, didn't do laods of revision either which I thought would screw me over, but IT stuff seems to resurface when I read a question, the answer just seems to appear then. Nearly fell asleep though as its soooo boring. I wish I was doing IT or ocmputing not crappy ICT. communication sucks.

  • Had media yesterday, had the answer in my pocket as we get out exam 2 weeks before we sit it (god knows why) and i found it so annoying the fact it was there in my pocket but i couldn't look at it. In the end i wrote 5 more pages than i originally did about for all i know a load of sh*t. Thought i did ok though. English today, and o boy was that fun! 3 x 45min question, answered maybe 5 lines on each. Screw revising for English, i can talk it fluently (i hope).

i got revision as well for my as levels and am spending about a third of my revision leave on my local dh trails to end the boredom of chemistry. Its wonderful theres nobody there on a tuesday afternoon so you don't have to mind anybody and can push straight back up the main track and its lovely and dry. The last time anybody else got to ride it was at the weekend when it was soaking and it will probably be soaking by next weekend as well. Happy revising

Is it your writing hand? If so, do you get a scribe?

Having a scribe would be weird, I always think on the paper almost, I don't think I could tell someone my answer properly in words while still thinking about it.

Well thats exam 5/6 done this morning[:D]. Three days this week studying till 1 and getting up at 7 means I feel slightly strange today... Mental exhaustion.

One left next friday should be enough time to study properly for it. I hope.

I know someone who broke their wrist just before the Easter. They've not needed a scribe all the time, but she has one on hand just in case her arm gets tired. Lazy bi<s></s>tch...

She also missed out on a week long field trip to the Lake District at the start of Easter... it was fun, easy and worth half of one of our modules. She had to write a 3000 word essay instead. I laughed at her for literally weeks.

Im revising for my degree, second year mech eng, its a proper mess.
    - I really really hope i dont fail any of the moduals (40%) but i already failed one from last semester (got 28%) and i also really need 50% over all to stay on the masters...

However ive got my placment (at JCB) sorted for year, which is a plus if nothign else.

  • I'm 27 and still having to study! Got this week off to study for my Chartered Financial Analyst exam - 3,000 pages of course notes, 6 months study and a six hour exam next Saturday. I used to think GCSE's were tough...

Note to dhutch - I screwed up the first two years of my Physics degree (43% average) and managed to fight my way back onto the masters course and came out with a 2:1 MPhys.

Went to Glentress yesterday. Fell off on a rock ladder and nearly broke my writing arm. Not clever.

The biggest motovation is that once it's done, it's done for good and you'll never have to do the subjects you hate again! The rest is optional! Your GCSE's are (in my eyes) the stepping stone into your adult life and it will be a much harder struggle if you didn't have this as a firm base. When you have finished I'm sure you'll be tempted by AS levels or college. I had no desire to continue my education at all, my main reason to start my A levels was because I enjoyed the social side of school, not to mention that all girls suddenly morph into good looking women over the summer (thats if you're lucky enough to go to a mixed schoool). Add to that the bonus of further qualifications and more stepping stones.

I can't imagine having to do mine again, GCSE's were by far the most stressful exams I've ever taken but the most rewarding once they were over.

I guarantee you that the summer afterwards will probably be the single best period in your life to date and you'll never forget it.

Hang in there, do your best and most of all enjoy your time with your friends. It will be all done and dusted in no time.

19 exams for A-levels? How many subject did you do?! Are they broken into modules and tested on topics?
