Agree Pross, I think it's early days yet. Signs are promising that it'll be an exciting race though (imo)

What's interesting here is that 3rd week performance has been Vingegaard's superpower in his previous wins

It still is.
He just started his third week, two weeks early.😂

I still don't get where Pog and Vin get their strength from? If you saw them in the street you'd think they were ill.

I get power to weight, but still?

Poor from the itv team not knowing Evenepoel and Carapaz were in the group with Pogacar and Vingegaard.

They got back to them with a few hundred metres to go and without the director having shown any of their approach (and when they were shown getting back it was impossible to tell just how close they were). Not sure any blame attaches to Ned and Dave - Eurosport didn't mention them either until Remco was burying himself for the catch, other than to note that they didn't know where Evenepoel was but that the timings suggested he was somewhere in the middle.

All true. Blame the motos for one not following them.
Blaming the motos does seem very common these days. 😉

Vingegaard looks as if he’s just come from a training camp…………….at Guantanamo Bay.

It's madness, it must disheartening for pro's who would be considered skinny blokes in society to look at them. It can't be good really for young riders to aspire to that waif build.

That’s what athletes look like. I guess you’ve never been in shape😉and everyone asking if you’ve been Ill.

No, no they don't. Perhaps you missed my point of how an average pro would look next to them? Thomas doesn't look gaunt.

Is that why he’s off the back.

The blokes 38, being anywhere is good to my mind.

It's just part of modern cycling now - sports science allows them to push the boundaries of weight loss without losing power. I remember Wiggins saying his Tour weight wasn't sustainable for an extended period.

The fun thing is that one of today's heroes, Abrahamsen, put 20kg on because he wasn't performing while he was "skinny"

They were talking about weight on The Move podcast. Remco supposedley 2.5kg lighter in the last few weeks. But as DeVlaeminck above syas they can be light and still putting the power out. I can remember being in the Alps and being 3kg lighter (some years ago). It was astonishing to me that being 72kg instead of 75kg would make it seemingly easier.

I think I've posted this before but just FYI, I did a test on my trainer where I knocked my weight from 85kgs down to 65kgs. I then "rode" Sa Colobra at my FTP and knocked 12 mins off my PB. Next day I "rode" it with my previous PB as a pace setter. So, so easy! Weight makes a massive difference, if you can maintain power.
I did delete these rides from Strava.

Gaudu and Little Lenny have both managed to lose 45 minutes already. Bad legs or a tilt at KOM/breakaway stage wins?

What on earth happened to Gaudu? He was the only one holding on to Pogacar at Paris Nice a few years ago. FDJ chose him over Demare. He hasn't done anything since.

He's recovering from Covid, which he caught at the Dauphine.

Madiot.
He's being groomed for a career of panache, valiant failure and gurning.
Must boil Madiot's piss that Bardet won a stage and got yellow, on a Dutch team at that.

Do you mean a big budget international team?

The sort of team Pinot should have moved to
