I was going to make the same comment. Based on his own descriptions of his physicality I'm surprised he's gone down that route. FWIW I think all roles within the British Army are open to men and women including Special Forces and the fitness tests are the same for both men and women (they relate to the role rather than gender). I reckon I could give the general infantry requirements a good go, certainly the loaded march the others are a bit more niche so hard to judge.

Israel has dismissed the ICJ as an antisemitic institution. Worth noting that the appointed Israeli judge voted against Israel on a couple of the decisions.

Anyone that disagrees with Israel is immediately branded as antisemitic, I still don't understand how that works given Palestinians are also Semites. Has the definition now changed?

The silly thing is that undoubtedly antisemitism is very much still a thing, but by calling all accusations against the IDF and the current Israeli government inherently antisemitic, it will mean that more people will subsequently ignore accusations of genuine antisemitism.

Good to see the EU finally getting round to cutting off the Hungarian friend-of-Vlad, Orban from the funding that he has been milking for so long.

Israel found a new way to attack a hospital today. Soldiers disguised as hospital workers killing a patient and two others.

How silly would they have looked if they went to all that trouble and there were no terrorists there

Have we discussed the UNWRA?
I seem to remember them being quoted as a reliable source

Try imagining CIA storming a UK hospital in a similar manner and shooting some people accused of terrorism in the US. Would that be OK?

I'm sure some people would applaud.

Reports of death, suffering and destruction are wrong?

I made the mistake of reading the comments under an interview about that acid attack.
Almost entirely racist rants about immigrants.

I'm not sure if they think no such crimes are ever committed by white Christians, or whether they think that only white Christians should be allowed to commit them.

Unfortunately the basic reported facts in this case only serve to reinforce views like those. It feels ridiculous that someone can be refused asylum twice, get convicted of sex crimes and then be granted asylum once released to then go on and (allegedly) commit this horrific act. Mo doubt there’ll be some sort of Inquiry and there’ll be some recommendations to avoid it happening again that quickly get forgotten.

The story has uncovered a very easy way for Afghans to be guaranteed asylum.
Afghans simply have to claim/show/prove (not sure how) that they converted from Muslim to Christianity. This means that they are sentenced to death in Afghanistan.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Can't help but think that is unsustainable with low taxes. Something's gotta give.

Feels very odd, they’re transport police so presumably relatively cushy for an American police department. I guess it may be down to the incredibly high property prices in that area (typical houses are apparently over $1 million).
They have a weird system over there with individual towns setting rates of pay for public servants from what I’ve read (admittedly in novels).
I’ve never quite worked out their police system but the places with well funded police are normally towns where corrupt corporations are running the town according to those books!

And yet in the Bay Area even people working in highly paid jobs for the tech giants can’t afford housing.
The US may be rich but still has plenty of problems and, on balance, I’d still rather live and work in the UK. If Trump gets back in it will be even worse. Wealth isn’t everything

Average police salary in the US is about $65k (still well above the UK) so why is this force having to pay double that for a starting salary?

'America' covers a wide range of sins. (Sorry this is somewhat out of date.) I suspect that that gap would be even wider now. There's no doubt that the US economy is outperforming most others at the moment, of course, but there's no sign in the big numbers of any 'trickle-down' economics.

lol compare that to British poor.
the poor are about as poor as the UK but then everyone else is much richer

Move there. Or be quiet. Or continue to show how fixated you are on one thing in your life. Your choice.

Bahaha love how defensive people get when I talk about America being richer.
its ok lads, you can want to live here and recognise Britain is fairly poor.
You literally couldn’t pay me enough to live there and I have been offered a lot to do so.
It’s ok! It might be worth paying attention to what they’re doing. After all, rich people and rich countries can afford to do stuff poorer people and countries can’t.

We've had this discussion before. You obviously admire different things.
