Translating Trainer Cycling Speed into Joystick Throttle Position

About fifteen years ago, while residing in Elyria, OH, I began riding a bike trainer to stay in shape physically during the winter. I thought it would be fun to translate my time on the trainer to operating a virtual plane using FlightGear: basically the harder I was pedaling the more advanced the throttle position. Since then I became disabled and sought to enhance my time on a bike trainer again. I equipped my bike’s rear wheel with a Wahoo speed sensor; that signal is read by an Arduino WiFi rev. 2 and translated into a joystick throttle position using an Arduino Leonardo. More details can be learned from posting on github: “https://github.com/toddwestley/Arduinos-to-turn-equipped-bike-into-Joystick-with-throtle-axis” Especially in presentation I aim to give to Brain Injury Association of Maryland : “https://github.com/toddwestley/Arduinos-to-turn-equipped-bike-into-Joystick-with-throtle-axis/blob/main/BIAMd presentation about arduinos.pptx
