So Rubio was fined for trying to put Healy into the crowd on Sunday, but mystified by the deduction of UCI points rather than KoM points

Someone I used to race with back in the 90s is doing the full route a couple of days ahead of the race for charity (he’s done it on the Tour a couple of times previously). He did this stage yesterday - 128 miles and 17,000 feet of elevation. Took him 10 hours (ex-1st cat racer, think he may have been Welsh champion and still a very good cyclist who leads cycle tours in the Canaries when not working as a mechanic for various teams).

Exhausting effort ... Did he do all of stage 13?
As the pass was closed he had to do the ride in 2 parts of 51 and 62 miles (just under 16,000 feet of elevation)
  • well that was a lovely-looking climb

Healy leads the KoM competition but he had to work hard.
    Bardiani fancy it.

I don't think I'll be able to watch much of this today, hopefully an hour with lunch, and then this evening is my daughters cycling coaching session, so maybe able to squeeze in another hour before bed - I'll be back on later to ask what kilometre-age I should be watching from :-)

Sounds like an entertaining stage so far.

I presume it wasn't long after he got all the points that he is going to get today.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

No idea what Bardiani are playing at, given they started with no KoM points.

It’s raining again even though the forecast was good.
