Remco looked very impressive on the long climbs in the vuelta. I think he got a reality check in Catalunya, but still looked like he's learnt a lot since his last go in the giro.

He lost time in both Vuelta stages at high altitude and they were longer TT style climbs rather than Giro steepness.
Must be my memory playing tricks on me.

Roglic is severely hampered by a sub-standard support team as a result of covid. Wouldn't under-estimate, especially given how he likes to race.

A sky train with a hilltop sprint suits him fine.

We got a gaggle of riders with a decent mountain top sprint ... I am hoping TGH can hang on to the pair cos he has a fighting chance if he can

I.think.remco is going to ignite the stages further out and spoil that plan.

Its down to who can follow

Anyone can crack in the third ....
The Sky train has been consigned to history.
The main train has been Jumbo for the past few years.
There was a bit of a train in the Tour of the Alps
Probably more to do with the competition. Jumbo have been blowing up the Ineos train when it matters.
Your point was actually embedded in the original SkyTrain comment that was made

As in sky is historical and the fact roglic could ride off the back of said train...

What's supposed to happen is you read sky train and then think "oh yeah that's a sarcastic joke because sky are in the past and jumbo are better anyway ... Ha ha "

But I guess it needed more explaining but then it would have
    Lost something in the retelling

    YMMV

    ...
    YMMV

My milage does vary. I read it as Sky/Ineos being interchangeable.
I missed/misunderstood something, and still do for that matter. 🤔
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Been looking forward to seeing what EF were going to do for their kit for the Giro.

It's leaving me rather underwhelmed. https://efprocycling.com/culture/a-green-twist-for-our-giro-changeout-kit/

    Quite like the bike though.

EF jerseys seem to be designed solely for people built like Hugh Carthy. They seldom seem to be MAMIL friendly.

The black pink mix of a few years ago was fantastic. Still looking for the pro team training jersey (less logos) version of that in XS.

Need to see it in action to see how much it looks like JV from above. Quite like the "old quilt" look though.

I think it has that combined jersey energy

I reserve judgement for the same reasons as you ..

Gino Mader positive for Covid so won't start, and will be replaced by Yukiya Arashiro.

Sam Oomen replacing the replacement Jos van Emden - Covid all over Jumbo at the moment. Assume Roglic will be bathing in anti-bacterial gel between now and the start.

Perhaps he will race in a hazmat racing suit.

*They'd need to sort it out in team colours of course, though Remco could wear the above with a few stripes added.

Does not bode well for them though does it.

There's talk about the crazy TT maybe not being feasible with the required logistics and motorbike support. Bit odd so long after it was announced.

Not wanting to sound all anti vaxxer, but is this a COVID positive and the related health impacts (prohibiting racing) or is it a COVID positive and therefore it's socially unacceptable to start a bike race?

The second one I think. He's not the only one out. It's all a bit 2020

I suspect than more than anything, it's a cautionary stop to racing and/or intensive training for the positive-testing pro riders for at least 7 days and then seeing how their body reacts to a bit of z3+.

Smashing out some z4+ while positive is a massive risk for at least extending symptoms a while, or at worst becoming a long covid statistic if you are still struggling over three months later.

    16/1 Geoghegan Hart, Almeida

Not that I think he'll win, but Haig at 50/1 seems ridiculously long odds. Especially compared to Vine.

Intermarche: French Daft Punk knock off (late DP, not the good earlier stuff). No
    Circus: Modern Prog rock. No
Vini Zabu: I liked their Eurovision winner, very catchy, but I'm not familiar with their other stuff. Maybe
Wanty: 90s Brit pop band who had one big album, which I didn't buy. Maybe.

I'll probably go and see Cube on the dance stage

I apologise for calling Intermarche a Daft Punk knock off. They are in fact Thomas Bangalter's new project, hence the similar sound.

    To round out the line-up

Uvex: Swedish DJ. He's good but I prefer Cube
Bryton: Indie rock about environmental issues. Lacking their bass player who got three months jail for gluing herself to Mumford & Son.
Steveny: Lazily named DJ from New York called Steve
    Gaerne: Cornish thrash metal band
UCI World Team: Whimsical band similar to the Divine Comedy.

Almeida and tgh look pretty close on this season's form, and probably last season's too.

Also likely to be leader, unlike haig and probably tgh.
