I'm not sure how Pog ever wins from that group of 3.

I have a theory that he may have a recovery advantage, coping marginally better with being at the business end of long hard races over the weeks - but I think I'm clutching at straws

Didn't he win a sprint against similar company a few years ago?
    Only against Alaphilippe

I saw the motorbike lying down, but didn't realise it had gone into the crowd.

No reports that I could find of any injuries, so hopefully everyone made it relatively unscathed.

Biniam Gamay, (similar sort of build and not that much experience) won on a day WvA, a heap of sprinters and big names were at GW.

The difficulty for Pog and UAE is that everybody knows how strong he is and UAE can hardly form a train that riders will ignore. They are more than capable of splintering the peloton in a cross wind but the astute riders and teams would be alert to that.

Pog needed a team mate up there with him.
Fantastic win for Pfeiffer Georgi BTW and a cooked plan.

Yep. WVA and MvdP had a nice easy ride at a critical period of the race when van Hooydonck and Søren Kragh were up the road

Pog can't win against those two without them screwing up. Even the last km attack didn't/won't work because they snap close it so quickly, that he gets no separation. That doesn't really cost them that much that they can't then sprint for the win.

Pog would need a fourth rider to make matters less straightforward for the other two.
