Astana break their duck. Not many left now.
Ineos well and truly in the frame.
Youngsters unrealistically being expected to fill in for those lost big names?

Procyclingstats seem very confident it won't be Ineos.

That's because they are including Plapp's Aussie National title. I don't in our poll as not all teams are eligible to enter riders into national champs.

Damn. My inspired choice in the poll all those weeks ago didn't quite come off.

I had that feeling too after I rethought my pick .

  • Didn't realise Arkea were World Tour now?

Were they promoted at Lottos expense?

Arkea and Alpecin got promoted. Lotto and Israel got relegated.

Preseason favourites Arkea take themselves out of the running.

    Who is left now?
    I guess AG2R, Alpecin and Groupama-FDJ.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

In fairness, Alpecin's star rider is winning quite a lot, just on a different bike...

What's Philipsen been up to? They seemed to have various winners last year.

He's not starting his race season until opening weekend according to procyclingstats. They've lost Merlier, who was usually good for an early win. I think Van Der Poel is racing in UAE, so it's possible they take a win there.

I assure you I'm as surprised as anybody else is - I thought I was choosing the most amusingly wrong option!

I'd get yourself to the PTP 23 thread whilst you're still on this streak.

Phillipsen takes Alpecin-Decuenick's first win of the year in stage 3 of Tirreno-Adriatico, thanks to a perfect lead out by Van Der Poel.
