Wifey off to Poland for at least a week. MIL due open heart surgery for a clot on her pacemaker and also has sepsis due to clot poisoning her blood, so not great.

    Home alone till the weekend.

Are you sure that they aren't alcohol abstaining Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Kingdom of the Netherlands worshippers?

    Bright and breezy this morning.
Rained 'a bit' last night. Fort 'Loon would be scrubbed clean and the moat filled with all that precipitation. Has anyone seen Noah?

  • Sending good vibes Seanos way from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Early start this morning, well for me anyway. 6.30 to do a little WFH, now WFW then an early finish to get out on the bike whilst the sky isn't a dark as a dark thing in a deep dark depression cycle.
    Then an early night.
And I've realized that this is what my life will be like for the next 8 months.

    Conti 4 seasons £92 for a pair V's Conti GP 5000 at £73?

I've had a few flats over the last month which you could put down to debris on the road but I'm thinking that after a few years the GP4000s are getting a bit past it.

Aye, best wishes to S's MIL.

Not sure if the floodwaters have receded as yet, not yet got up bar to concoct the 1st 100% pure Colombian plus a dose of cold 'n' flu capsules. Another grotty night inc lots of accumulating snot. Should have started earlier on the paracetamols.

Can't see today being anything other than do next to nothing, bar grizzling.

GP5000’s are not as robust as the GP4000’s were. I bought a pair and had to bin the rear after not that many miles due getting pretty cut up. However the front still has some life in it.

Rubbish weather, gloomy grey and damp all day. Did some fettling in shed - built a spare frame into a flat bar roadie for use exclusively on the turbo, see if I can sit on that any better than the actual roadie. Trial tomorrow.

  • @webboo thats the sort of feedback I've been hearing, 500 miles and ready for the bin.
I'm going to be using one bike through winter this year as one is going to be on the turbo.
I'm leaning towards the 4 seasons, gatorskinz were an option but the grip isn't supposed to be the best due to a harder compound which is OK for riding to work in a straight line but possibly not for real riding.

5000s do seem to wear quickly. Not noticed that they're more prone to cuts.

Busy morning, pedalled in and survived - gloomy but warm. Got a docs appointment this eve when the specialist will hopefully tell me that my recent knackered back was just a pulled muscle. They went to the trouble of doing an MRI so he should be pretty sure about it.

    Afternoon folks,
Another day in the orifice, pleasant enough wobble in remarkably mild conditions. Just as well as I'd forgotten my knee warmers at work yesterday.
Today being Wednesday I will be doing my bit to support the hospitality industry. Got to fix the shower first so might be delayed. Fitted the new valve yesterday and the outlet won't accept a 15mm pipe, so had to turn down the old outlet in the lathe. Actual manual labour for a few minutes. I'm back sitting at my desk to recover now.
Hope everything goes well for the MiL Seano.
HD, Gatorskins are cack, I'd go for 4 Seasons if a winter bike.

I’ve never used 4 seasons but I have a Gatorskin on the rear on my winter bike. Going up hill in the wet it’s not advisable to get out of the saddle. I plan on changing when it wears out but the sh*t thing refuses to do so.

Good call. Feeling totally shite and wiped out today, multiple doses of paracetamol+ having little effect.
