Full gas effort from half way. Acutely aware of the slightest irregular sound that might come from the bottom bracket but all seems good so far. Gloomy but mild.

Solution to funny bike noises is to stick your headphones in and turn up the tunes.
Good start to the day: Carrying stuff to put in bag for later and the handheld radio with the antenna attached fell on the floor and broke the connector off Bigger, heavier radio packed instead so might have to walk rather than run up the hill later. Broken one should be repairable although Kenwood want £40 + P&P for a replacement connector whereas the generic ones I have lying around are about £1 each.
Also seem to have lost one of my dry sacks so will have to order a new one, so the old one turns up in some obvious place.

I once turned up the stereo in my Capri to drown out some droning. A big end bearing went clean through the block and seized the engine at 70mph.
Not doing that again! 🤣
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Yep, I like to be able to hear what the car is doing, specially on longer journeys.
aÿ spanish aÿ or Ay le petit village de Veuve-Clicquot, Bollinger et Moët et Chandon?
I'm going to say the champagne one.
Wfw. Whooshy whooshy. Fried my legs a bit when I could, but many many wobbly t!ts in PE shorts and flappy t-shirts, so I decided that mooching was the best tghing to do.
Back working in the cave today, so normal service has kinda been resumed. Will head into the office for a change of scenery on Thursday if I get no twinges from the back over the next couple of days.
Riding the bike again is getting pretty tempting but need to play it safe for a bit longer.

I thought turning the stereo up on an 80's Ford (fixed or repaired daily) was de rigueur.

There is up, and there is up up. 😉 PS - 70s Ford in the 80s.
Edit:- And the aftermath...rebuilding the engine in the street. 🤣

If it is the former and it was your wheelbarrow, you would be skint.

Same for any car if the wife is in the passenger seat.

Beans, Beans, Beans. Update. ***Exclusive*** First in the King Charlie era.
Funny little character. From the word go, he was very hesitant about being picked up. You would pick him up and all 4 legs would straighten as if he was bracing himself for a fall. I wonder if he had been man handled, maybe accidentally at some time. I have endeavoured to only pick him up when there's a purpose: putting him on a soft spot, showing him his food, offering a treat. Now he purrs almost instantly when I do and doesn't mind. Takes huge patience trying to get Shorty not to pick him up clumsily and for little reason and not to hug him like a soft toy. Grr Shorty. Also, his preference is females. Always a bit over submissive with me and not wanting to be handled bar a scratch at the back of the neck.
Then the triple light bulb moment. He used both cat flaps - he used them 1 way up until now - in but not out for some inexplicable reason known only in his funny little furry head. 2nd moment was the woodburner in the living room. Huge curiosity for him to begin with and then a puff of smoke sent him legging it out. It's the first time we have lit it since the end of April and not since Beans' arrival.
Later on in the evening, he decided that the house wasn't on fire and he came and lay across my lap. He had never done that before. It's taken the best part of 5 months to properly gain his trust.
Up early again (not SG early as thats just silly) today and knocked out a mile in the pool. Currently WFW and considering how to Unistrut a TV to the garage roof that hinges down to use with Zwift etc over the winter.

Those cross flows in those engine bays in that era were easy to work on/extract.

Mobile A-Frame and a block & tackle. Loads of space. Not like nowadays.

Well, when I did the engine and gearbox oil on my '89 944, engine comes out from underneath and there's not a lot of space. It's not a Ford innit. 8 Hours+. My mate and I did an engine swap on the rare Mk2 Harrier Escort. He was going to rebuild the engine but one came up already done. Standard 1600. That was a doddle.

We have a ceiling mounted projector in the orifice and a motorised screen that comes down, or is that too big? Unistrut & gas struts from someone else's car boot maybe for the tv?

Probably too big, its got to fold down in front of the roller shutter door, a 36" would be sufficient I think and some sort of pulley mechanism to lower/raise it.
Ideally a local 2nd hand flat screen TV for less than £50 including a remote. Strut etc I'll just get through work.
