Just discovered the local hill to me in Somerset is this year's national hill climb course. Must get more forgiving gearing.

    Are you sure? https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/race-details/23349
You're right. But there is a closed road hill climb tomorrow. I completely misread a text from my brother.

4.20am, sitting in dining room. Yippee.

Ok, I bite, 4.20am in a dining room? Still arguing over the bill?
Nah, it was my dining room at home. Out of bed at 2.30am feeling rubbish. Somewhere on trip away I’ve picked up lurgy, not tested yet for COV, and having much trouble with neck.

Eh? I’m confused. I though the new place was Devon/Cornwall?

Forgot to say, I'm happy to lend a hand with changing cranks Seano. Bring it all over. If I declare your bike beyond repair you can leave it all here.

    Much obliged V. I think I can I
handle it but have the glue ready just in case 👍

It's only a few miles from the Devon border. Porlock.

I think that's been used for the national one a few times, have heard it's a good event.

You should get a time in to increase your chances of getting a place for the nationals
Thought ugo may have been going but doesn't look like it.

Just a little electric motor delivering an additional 200w to the cranks, and I'd be competitive. Given my build, compared to your average hill climber, they might see through such a stunt.

Don’t envious beans. Hill climbers are at a disadvantage in every other aspect of life apart from horse racing 👍

Much better to gaffer tape a 50kg bloke to your car roof as a bike rack (and tell him 'hold on to that bike') 'cos anyone heavier:

    a) you may struggle to coerce and gaffer tape
    b) might dent your roof
    c) is less aero and will ruin your mpg
    d) won't get by on a crumbs.
