There have been no findings against him and no further investigation, so he's available to ride again.
Astana's press release was far more caged than that, referencing his contractual rights to ride and the possibility of re-suspension if anything new turned up
“Road racing was over and the UCI had banned my riding positions on the track, so it was like ‘Jings, crivvens, help ma Boab, what do I do now? I know, I’ll go away and be depressed for 10 years’.”
Who's the dodgy doctor, anyone?? Any priors with cyclists or sports people?
Marcos Maynar?
Yeah
“Astana Qazaqstan Team discovered new elements showing M. A. Lopez' probable connection with Dr M. Maynar. Accordingly, the team had no other solution than to end the contract between team and rider, based on breaches of said contract and internal team rules, with immediate effect”

Sure but who is he? What’s the rep?
Spanish doctor, works in academia, has been involved in the Portuguese cycling scene previously. Hasn't ever been charged with anything though.

Bit confused on what the violation is ....but clearly everyone in the WT weren't ever going to touch him with a barge pole ...which is a good sign of where we are culturally.

I still find the idea vino is a manager on the WT calender ridiculous... But there you go

It's in Spanish, but apparently not under investigation
