Confused now, I thought Storer was only a few seconds behind Woods but then the ticker seemed to be showing it as the 1.17 gap being between groups not from the front.

Madouas having closed seemed to have gone way too early but somehow holds on for second.

    Ignore

Doubt it but a French rider came second and a French Canadian won so who needs coverage of the GC race?

Love the emotion attached when a life domestique wins, clearly even more for Hugo! Great to see!

Question why Martinez was drilling it on the front when Yates & Pidcock were in the group behind?

Millar pointing out that Martinez driving the Thomas group meant that he was taking Quintana ahead of Yates.

Wasn't it more important to get Thomas back to the GC group............

Netflix missed out not signing up Israel PT. They've had some good story lines.

Their first win, the rider rescued from retirement to win on the cobbles, a rider wanting to win for his late brother (and only North American winner), and the grand champion coming back from injury.

This was at the end when he was back in the GC group. Chance to distance the podium rivals bar Quintana though I suppose.

Towing Quintana clear of Yates so Thomas could further distance a guy further back who couldn't hang on to the break ?

The hole you have dug is quite big enough, so I'd stop if I were you.

On the subject of Meintjes: having gained all that time back in two successive breaks, today, he did what you claim GC riders must do and hung on in the GC group.
In fact, he hung pretty well with Yates, and better than Bardet and Mas.
Two of those were in the top 5 and the other has twice been runner up at La Vuelta.

On the subject of Vlasov, if you think letting that guy get back to within a couple of minutes of Thomas, I suggest you apply for a DS job with Jumbo.

    Highlight thoughts...

Avoiding Spoilers really limits what you can read. Something about Soler...

Seriously, what is Wout playing at..?

I love how exuberant Maijka is in his support for Pog

    Holy Moly Pog

    These pre-Pyrenees are very pretty...

Froome Dog lasted a long while again!

    -------

Well controlled by TJV between the Porte and the Mur

1.7 of climbing left - Pog has left this late - Kamikaze Descent approaching?

Quite nice to see Gee & Yates working together. Could we have imagined british riders in 20...etc. Nairoman's back!

    Lol! WTF Rafa???

    Goo on Hugo Houle, eh?

    Wowsers Sep. Fair Play
That's what Wout was playing at

    What did Soler do?
    ------

Jorgenson wanted a drink from that bar. Hell of a ride back on tho.

Wonderfully French to, at first glance, be in such strong positions with multiple team mates yet actually be off the back of both races

Fair Play IPT. Played this rather well. 'ey, Good on ya Hugo

    Seriously...Soler?

    Oooooohhhhhhh...

Exactly. This 'honouring the race' nonsense needs to stop.

I wonder how much of it is to do with their cut of the prize money at the end of the Tour.

I think the main question from today is why waste two perfectly good Hs on French Canadian Hugo Houle? If there's anyone that can't even make use of them it's 'Ugo 'Oule
