Cloudy drizzly grey, not a breath of wind to blow the clouds away.
    May pedal anyway.

Last day of term for toots.

No sign of a bonfire at Fort Loon yet. He's a big chap - good job too 'cos he'll need to fight off the locals. They're funny that way. They say 2 funny. It's 'twae' 6 miles from here, here it's 'twa' and in Loon land, it's 'too'.

Friday might have escaped but I haven't. Stuck on a 'senior finance management conference' on Teams until 4pm :/ And I have to stay awake as I'm presenting for 15 minutes later on. Hey ho.

Just for info, this took place on the day after I took ownership of The Fort. Just saying.

Bit of admin, Crapita requesting a paper 😳 form be completed and posted back to reclaim the council tax credit I am owed. Paper! Plonkers. And other move related stuff.

Then try to navigate the odd booking system for the mini gym I've signed up to, select from options on this pulldown but we won't supply any... might just rock up anyway. When I went to check it out, both the fitness suite and the pool had zero attendees. Mayhap they're all lazy barstewards round here.

I think that market is a bit too niche to make much money.

Friday has escaped, but I haven't. WFH this morning, then a pedal in, then WFW and a pedal home.

One more school week for mini, then she's off to Florida with Mrs B3 a week on Monday.

Are you WFW only for the pedalling? It's the only reason I choose to WFW these days.

Tempting but not sure I could handle all the prostitute murdering and cyclist running over-ing.
Also a long time friend has become a HGV driver a few years ago and he's now a right miserable git.

I can share a photo of the invoice and the Cycle to Work certificate… but it’s this and I’ve made a couple of build changes:

I'm not into murdering prostitutes; they're handy and thin on the ground (in rural areas at least).

Well, it seems the hospital were desperate to get anybody they could out the door, and they've discharged Mr WS (the other one.. lol). I was possibly expecting tomorrow, but more likely Sunday as the earliest the surgeon would OK his release, but whatever.

    He's home. Happy dance.

Email today from the technician in Sydney that my uber-whizzo disc player (Krell DVD and CD) is officially unrepairable. Parts simply no longer exist to do it. OK, it's now 15 years old, and the technology is somewhat dated, BUT I used it for music, not movies, for which it was still absolutely awesome. Original RRP was a shade under $8k back in the day. Current value: - $250, which is what it cost me to ship it up and get checked over.

    Rats.

That's a lot of shipping WS.

The portable radio transmitter that I have is a 20+ year old design, there have been 2 "replacement models" which have basically been tweaks of the internal circuits because the original parts were no longer available.
It's clearly a good design if they're still making them and there's plenty of demand, but also bad that in 20 years nobody has come up with anything better.

Yeah I spent $85 shipping it up with insurance, assessment cost was $110 and return is another $60. I actually want it back even though it doesn't work because I'll use the stripped out chassis as a support block for something else. Even non-functioning, the fit and finish of the machined aluminium case is lovely to look at.

The video output board is dead, and the main controller board for the disc drive is also apparently misbehaving, plus the actual disc transport itself is discontinued. AFAIK the power supply and audio DAC section is ok, so I may try a sneaky mod to retro-fit a different disc transport and see if it still works, but the odds are slim.
