People don’t notice these are fake… please don’t buy them. I have reported the item, but seemingly EBay don’t give a monkeypox about it

How do you know they sre fake?.
The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

The hubs are not original FFWD or even DT Swiss as used in some models… they are a pair of Novatec, I have used them in the past 271/372 I seem to remember . The rims don’t look particular good quality either, the usual pair of 3k weave from China

At least they don’t stick fake labels on them trying to pass them as a pair of upmarket wheelsleft the forum March 20230

Didn't you want some for your TT bike?.

I don’t have a TT bike… I have a bike. Not going to buy some crap wheels for the sake of it… I’ll see how the roadmans go in June… I might not need them… or I might,if I do, I’ll probably build a setMattFalle said:Didn't you want some for your TT bike?

Here you go: https://www.dhgate.com/product/ffwd-fast-forward-f6r-700c-60mm-white-red/207149700.html except he has removed the Novatec stickers and put some FFWD skewers on to make it look genuine.

It might be the guy genuinely thinks they are FFWD, as he got conned himself…left the forum March 20230

Why are they "censored" wheels?ugo.santalucia said:

They are made with generic cheap spokes, they weigh about 2 kg for the set… I suspect they will bring an aero be fit measurable in single digit Watts over a generic pair of alloy clinchersleft the forum March 20230

Why do you suspect that?.

Because it takes more than just making rims deeper… they need to have the right profile too. At zero yew angle, most rims behave in the same way, irrespective of the depth… as you increase the angle you see the difference, but if the rim is badly designed, you only get the drawbacks, in terms of poor handling, without the benefits. Overall, it seems that even the best rims around only save you 10 watts, when compared to an Open Pro and probably less when compared to the DT511 I use at the moment.MattFalle said:Why do you suspect that?
Bottom line, these could be worse than what I have got

But how do you know all the above re these rims?
They could well be mega groovy gravy bananas for all we know..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

I've got enough deep wheels to satisfy my needs wheras you were after some.

Only 130g heavier on clincher than £1400 Hunts with own brand hubs and you'll make that up and far more going tubular.....ugo.santalucia said:They are made with generic cheap spokes, they weigh about 2 kg for the set… I suspect they will bring an aero be fit measurable in single digit Watts over a generic pair of alloy clinchers

Scared of spending and realising I am going to be 5 seconds faster… I am a bit baffled by FLO data, which are underwhelming and their wheels are certainly faster than any Chinese stuff… I was hoping for 20 Watts, which works out at 45 seconds on a 10, but it’s a lot lessMattFalle said:I've got enough deep wheels to satisfy my needs wheras you were after some.

What - Hunts being underwhelming?

FLO wheels underwhelming.
No, I think I am talking myself out of it… which is probably for the better…

For comparison, a pair of overshoes/aero socks give you around 5-6 watts at 25mph and cost a lot lessleft the forum March 20230

Are aero socks really that good?.

I go with what they claim, same as for wheels… the point is that the watts saving is comparable, the price is not and of course wheels are more hassle than fitting a pair of overshoes… different pads, valve extensions… etcMattFalle said:Are aero socks really that good?

So those £25 one at PBK are going to save a speedy MF 5-6 watts?.

And, tbf, you only fit extenders pads once, so its not really a bifftek.ugo.santalucia said:

Description says that the hubs were replaced with "ceramic bearing hubs" in 2019, which isn't true. Anyways, they went for £430, so somebody is laughing really hard now.ugo.santalucia said:It might be the guy genuinely thinks they are FFWD, as he got conned himself…

For whomever has bought these, I'd be more concerned with the sizeable gouge in the rim bead, looks like a catastrophe waiting to happen. IMO that wheel should have been binned.0
