That's Tom Cruise packing fudge. FYI.

Probably wouldn't be OK these days, which is kind of fair IMO.

Let's hope today Bradley Wiggins doesn't tell us how after winning the Tour & Olympics he went on a big drinking spree and smoked a load of cigarettes

It reminds me of a time when a hockey teammate of mine called an umpire bent. Unknown to him, the umpire was gay so then had to persuade him that he was calling him corrupt.

I remember hearing the conversation at the time, and in context it certainly sounded like he was taking the mick out of Hatch for being greedy.

But obviously 2022 will be 2022 and you can't call someone who works in a fudge shop a fudge packer

To me, it sounded at the time like a big kid trying to sneak a naughty word in.

    That's Kirby's favourite commentary pastime.

Heaven knows what fudging an issue means these days.

Yeah that's what it sounded like to me.

I did wonder if he'd done it inadvertently because it'd be such a stupid thing to do on purpose but it'd be stretching charity to give him the benefit of that doubt.

It do think an apology was merited but no need for anything beyond that - it's one moment of poor judgement.

What it always has. For example, "he could have tried to fudge the issue by pretending that it was just a normal phrase and that you can't say anything nowadays, but he hasn't".

I hope they're being paid a shitload for showing this strain number.

To be fair, it's provided one of the few things to comment on. It's been a really dull race so far, especially from a GC perspective.
You need to change your perspective then.

There's always someone who complains about the lack of gc action in the first half.
I think there's been less complaining than usual so far, so perhaps that means it is above average.
I didn't watch the whole of the first three stages, but they all had decent quality finishes. Then stages 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 have all been fun to watch, with at least three of them excellent.

That's a pretty good return so far.

I am learning as I go here.

Who knew confectionery products could be so offensive.
This morning I was shocked to find the urban meaning of a well know Cadbury concoction that is topped with a nut.

I always thought it meant fat

I remember him saying it and I think the there really is a fair chance it was unintentional. Bit of a rushed Colman ball . At the time there was no mirth reaction in the commentary box or any negative pause...they just carried on blabbing . I think it's fine he apologizes it can be taken in offense and it cost nothing . As a term I don't think it's an appropriate phrase to use during sports commentary and best avoided
