I LOVE this bike and keep thinking about it. However, I think it's a touch too long for me, though hard to say with this type of geometry. Measurements on my existing bike are 568mm from centre saddle to middle of the bars and 769mm saddle to centre of cranks. That is on my 55cm Enigma Esprit. Having checked geometrygeeks, I think the reach is possibly too much (15mm longer than the Esprit).

Any Colnago experts able to persuade me otherwise?!

You are looking at 15 mm difference… unless you are planning to race over a thousand miles distance, I don’t think it will make any significant difference. People seem to use smaller frames than we used to

...and so similar to a C40 I know

That is rather nice and the potential replacement rides like silk.

There’s a bit of a change of plan. I went out on this in the week and totally loved it. MF is right, this is all the bike I ever need, and it’s so lovely in the sun. However, I’m pretty sure at 179cm, a 56 is a touch too small for me, and a 57 is more like my size. Longest of long shots, but does anyone have a 57 frame they want to swap for a 56? That’s Colnago size C-T, not C-C.

I find the above very strange as I am the same height and ride a 54cm with 120mm stem. If anything the stem might be 10mm too long.

Edit - Colnago size 54cm with horizontal tube. I’ve never felt the need to measure it.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Maybe I’m not measuring it correctly. It’s Colnago size 56cm, which I think is around 54 seatpost C-C, so maybe we have the same size? It also has 120mm stem on it, and I’m now 50, so not as flexible as once was!

    I went and measured.
The 54cm sized Master horizontal tube I have with a 120mm stem is 70cm seat post clamp to to handle bars. I have a set back seat post.

    Ha! I'm 10 years older.
As per my earlier post Colnago size their frames from the intersection of the rear triangle to where the top tube meets the head tube. Which tallies with my 54cm.
If you have a lot of stem spacers or an extended seat post then the geometry may change. My stem is slammed and my seat post is 140mm bolt to seat clamp.

Just went and checked- it’s 54 where you measured, so the same frame. I have 155mm of seatpost to the rails, for 76cm saddle height, maybe my legs are a bit long, seems a lot of post for a traditional frame, that’s why I figured a 57 would be better.

    .

I had to cut my seat post to fit in the round section length. 😱.
