Has anyone ever even seen a crossply tyre? I was surprised to see they still get a mention on motoring sites as I don't think in 30 odd years of driving a tyre shop has asked me if I want crossply or radial even when having to replace all 4 at the same time.

I'm old enough to remember the warnings not to mix them but I don't remember being asked by a garage which i wanted so I'm assuming by the mid-late 1980s one or other was no longer readily available.

Had them on my old MG. Handled like a Coke can.

People who are detailing like that will drive them from the trailer parking area into a show ground. Maybe a few miles on dry roads to a local car show. And, the cars have 30hp engines and drum brakes .... #perspective

Lovely white walled tyres Derek. Thank you Norman.

I do love a nice bench seat. Original vinyl, Derek. Pledge you see, keeps it moist.

I don’t know about other marques but VW enthusiasts don’t really fit that kind of mould per se.
I also don’t dig dragging other hobby enthusiasts down. Dull is not having any interests.

Aren't classic VW enthusiasts all into painting flowers on the Nazi car, pretending to be on Scooby Doo and all of that sort of stuff?

In terms of legality, not one of my car's tyres is the same as the others...
