I had a puncture in Gatorskin. They are not thorn proof but they are still sh*t tyres.

Maybe for roadies. For commuting they work just fine, ta.

Oh - pulled thorn out 2 weeks ago after hearing this tick tick tick noise. I thought it was a cable or the chain but it was Hawthorne. Expected the usual sssssssssssssssss but nothing. Latex: if it's good enough to bonk with...

You've had at least 2 punctures then? :p
No - there wasn't a puncture. Pulled the thorn out but it hadn't penetrated the latex inner tube.
Did you miss you the bit in bold?
'Course if'n you woz running tubeless, just pull out the thorn, might see a little weep of sealant, carry on as normal. Easy tech innit.

I have toyed with the idea.
    Do you run tubeless?

Yes, riding mainly tubeless since 2017 no problemo. Have one front wheel yet to be switched over from tubed, will get round to it sometime, but it's lightly used with a slicker tyre for when I'm riding my graveller on mainly tarmac routes. Which I might do today given the clag and gloop around and about. Cue the thorn? 🤔

Good quality frame and wheels for the magic carpet ride. Besides, why are you so worried about SG's bum?
