Up in Liverpool at the hotel waiting for junior to turn up in her car for the drive back to Kent. Just had a full English to keep me going.

We went out for a bite to eat in town last night and saw the traditional Friday night drunken brawl in the street outside. 10 plod were there in no time, no wonder they call them bizzies up there because they are pretty busy

Its just like Bexleyheath but bigger and there are less knobs.

Except that the drunken brawl involved a group of what looked like 13-14 year old kids. Was quite interesting to watch from our first floor restaurant seats.
Usual cockney approach to look down on the northerners.

!3- 14 year olds? No need to call the 50, Stevo, that's just high jinks in that neck of the woods.

And back in from the Christmassy meal, 19 of the 27 showed, 6 late call offs as scaredy cats. Really good evening. Good food and very reasonably priced, beers were good and from local microbreweries. Nice to just socialise and chat. In a convivial fraternal / sororal manner of course.

Interesting chat with this young Finnish couple, he's a Scotch whisky aficionado and on it. Helped with his pronunciation where necessary.

A sound night's sleep beckons, after a wee night cap.

Managed my first pedal after the jab double just simply to a) get going again and b) make damn sure I exceeded the mileage total - the furthest since 2009. So, I am quite happy with that. Interestingly, the total I beat was 2016's total and at an average speed higher than that year... which translates to 10 hours in the saddle less!! 10 hours?!
Can't say i'm fitter or stronger because in 2016, I did many longer rides.

Little and often or longer with more recovery time? That is the question.

@tlw1 Colnago. That's all I can think about. Longer, with less effort and a happier bum/neck/knees...
