Loads still around but BB isn't one unless he's changed his name.1

Vaguely recall he got perma-banned for something.Open One+ BMC TE29 Seven 622SL On One Scandal Cervelo RS0

None of us quite as long as you by the looks.ddraver said:Oh yeah...Possibly.
Bit depressing to see how long we've all been hanging around honestly... 👴"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.1 -
2006 I joined apparently. Shame FrenchFighter isn't still around.1

I think I remember Bernie the Biker. Is that the same one or were there two BB's?
The guy I recall ran a bike tour company in Mallorca I think, he's not on here anymore.1 -

Of course, I've forgotten who (a thousand apologies, sir) but he's a regular contributor to race threads.
Does not mean that Bernie was not also a bike tourist though. We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Was Bernie the biker the one who got really upset when someone said the bib shorts he was selling had skidders in them.1

I was on a cycling trip with bernie the biker, good guy and very strong rider.
Biking bernie sounds like a very different kettle of fish.1 -
That was me making the accusation, but I accidentally accused the wrong person of selling skidded shorts and it didn't go down well.webboo said:Was Bernie the biker the one who got really upset when someone said the bib shorts he was selling had skidders in them.

I think I was locked out. All my posts are deleted. It is quite strange. I tried a few times over the decade since the Armstrong 2012 post. I was 6hrs different of you all that day in 2012 so I posted the Armstrong thread before news was in uk.rick_chasey said:More importantly, where has Dave been?

Biking Bernie popped after Aurelio. I remember talking points & modus identical. BB wasn't a big fan of women's racing and seemed out to get a reaction.0

Monty Dog still around?0

BB turned into Aurelio then got banned for the aforementioned doping chat
Frenchfighter hit 30k posts and (seemingly) gave up
I believe afx3271 has passed away, unfortunately

Sorry about afx3271. I remember that account. I think he/she preceded move from c+ forum to bikeradartakethehighroad said:BB turned into Aurelio then got banned for the aforementioned doping chat

One thing Aurelio BB said was podium girls good.
The podium protocall are so different now.

I remember you arriving Rick. You may even have been c+ era before we were moved to bikeradar.rick_chasey said:Nope don't think so. Pro race is rather thin on the ground now, Dave.
3 things have impacted pro race.
Twitter , fb disrupted it a bit bh drawing people over there
Cyclechat eroded numbers a big too
Lance Armstrong threads got quite contentious. That is over now.
I hope old schoolers of c+ and early bike radar era return here

No... sad, as he was very handy with the spanner. I met him in Oudenaarde in 2013, for the Retroronde... he also raced in the retro crit and did quite well... with his nano-sized Giosdave__1 said:Monty Dog still around?

I think a fourth thing is that it can be quite clique-y in here, and I think that puts new people off contributing [more than a handful of times].Ben

Yes. That was what I felt too. But I think I defending Armstrong right up to just anoyt when he couldn't be. But still, your 4th thing is a certainly a contributer to the quietnessBen6899 said:dave__1 said:

Yes. Monty Dog cared a lot for the sport and was staunchly against Lance Armstrong 6 or 7 years before usada report of 2012ugo.santalucia said:

One more thing I find more and more. Doping threads .a little bit is ok, but quite a lot of people want something that doesn't darken their day too much, and that era's threadswere choca bloc doping at times due to newsBen6899 said:dave__1 said:

There was a time a few years ago where it seemed that every race thread was a competition to say how boring everything was...
That wasn't the most fun time to be around. That saw off Richmond Racer and Above the Cows (mostly) and a few others in particular. We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I met Keith Oates in person a couple of times . He was a nice guy. A friend made via c+ I drank with in pub. He said he found the argumentation a bit of an issue by 2007.ddraver said:There was a time a few years ago where it seemed that every race thread was a competition to say how boring everything was...
