Locally, I drive like a bit of a square pants now. There's a sort of jurisdiction by proxy amongst the locals (but only when it suits them).tlw1 said:

There are some back roads within a reasonable distance from me with miles and miles of empty roads with no residents near (I would hate to run over someone's cat or dog) to have a jolly on.
