Lucky penalty. Gulf in quality in the final, but home advantage. Nice final 5 to 10 though to close out the game tonight.

    England fans can be proud.
    Grrrrrrr
But I didn't care one way or the other. I'm pleased for England fans, part time or otherwise. Last night I wanted Italy to win. I've loved Italy since 1982. Like people from Surrey support Manchester Utd or Chelsea. Or how many people of my age support Liverpool, despite never having been there.

My team is Coventry, but internationals, Italy.

    It's a game.
Your disdain for โ€œEngland fansโ€ is palpable hop ๐Ÿ˜‚

The large majority arenโ€™t flag waving yobbish racists. I like to see England doing well in the same way I like to see the Brits do well at Wimbledon or the Olympics.

You do realise โ€œItaly fansโ€ arenโ€™t less likely to be yobbish racists ๐Ÿ˜‰
Also, subjectively, that was never a penalty, and Kane was fcuking lucky that Schmeichel ballsed up the save of his pretty lame effort! ;)

But, the unarguable rule in respect of all sports results is, "look in the book"! :)
    Agreed ๐Ÿ‘

    lucky?

dive followed by scuffed kick and 'keeper fumble.

    wasn't exactly Jorginho was he?
How about some classic Italian music to convert us all to the wonders of Italy?

You're on shaky ground there Stevo - for every Joe Dolce (who is American anyway...), there's a Verdi, or a Rossini, Puccini, Vivaldi. :)
For someone who says he isn't partisan, you're getting quite defensive about Italy, H3 ;)

You know that Lamborghini is part of Volkswagen Audi Group, right? And Ferrari and Maserati are part of Fiat Chrysler which is half American... Oopsie.

And between the three of them they sell less than 40,000 cars a year. Tiny.

Norton is now Indian. I think Morgan may still be British, but they still make cars out of wood and use front suspension designed by Lancia in the 20s. The 1920s that is.

    without taking sides...

in it's time, italy thrashed all the useful bits of europe plus various other sunny places, the roman empire has now been going over two thousand years

the empire rebranded to become what is now the roman catholics, hq retains considerable global influence and has many tentacles

over the last century it's been badly let down by a long run of populists of various degrees of extremism, both right and left wing, corruption and inequality

    lesson to be learned there
