It's all very well saying stuff like "children, behave" or "remember when this thread used to be about chain lube?" But none of you seem to have been around when matthewfaille launched into yet another clubbie trollfest. Why is that?

Anybody just joining this thread may think it is about chain lube 😉

oh no, thats been covered losds of times.

just buy whatever label you like the look of - they are all the same.

clubbies will say different - especially the hitters in the fast group - but its all just oil really.

this clubbie stuff, now this is all new. hasn't been bickered about in, well, days really.

Similarly, having encountered many group club rides who think they "own the path" I do not hold them in high regard either.

And yet 'clubs' are responsible for delivering probably more than 90% of competitive cycling events in the UK. Presumably those denigrating clubs only ever ride around for a bit of fun and have never taken part in an event staged by a cycling 'club'..??

    Thought not.

    no.

been a member of a club for years - you need to to race, especially at the level i was which is far above you.

it was prettyshit but compared to all the other clubs around here and clubbies I have encountered over the 35 years of decent level riding i have done, far better than them they were reallyshit.

clubs and clubbies. they ain't that great, fella.

what club are you in I? Andyrrrrr and Devon Boy are still failing to declare their allegiances.
Sorry, Mattfalle, I forgot to answer to your spouting off, actually spent some time riding my bike, not keyboard-warriering.
    Answer= none.
I know for a FACT (upper-case here for you as you like this sort of thing to emphasise to the less well educated just how right you are) that without club members UK road racing wouldn't operate as BC are pretty useless wrt grass-roots events.
There are plonkers in cycling clubs but there are also the equivalent elsewhere - many people on the internet exhibit twattish traits, you need to put a call out and gather your acolytes around you.

Not since the last time your desperately fragile ego was in need of an attention-seeking boost, that's for sure...

JFC, this is like winding up one of those Monkey toys and watching it hare around the kitchen floor smashing its cymbals together.

so i know it from the inside which is what ypu should do if you are to comment on anything.

i also get lots of free clothes tbat i don't wear because they are designed by visual cripples.

2 bikes I think to be exact.

or it might be 1 with another spare set in a box.

    not sure offhand.

no clinchers, discs or tubeless though - I do draw lines in the sand.

Yawn. If only there was some evidence for any of this. "I'm kind of a big deal - people know me..."

That is obviously clubbie slang as I haven't got a clue what you're on about.
