But wasn't 'cracking beer' as a student, alcohol that was cheap?
We had £1 pint Boddingtons in the NUS bar. Eeek.

£1 pint of Harp in ours or the Uni's official drink "purple nasty",otherwise known as snake bite and black, as the uni colours were purple. Meant the pavements were lined with purple vomit every Saturday and Sunday morning.
We're forgetting Stevo went to Uni in the 70's 'cos he's that old.
When I was at College, SB&B was £1 at the Wednesday student night in Eeeeeeestbawn. I meant saving a fiver £1 entry and 4 x SB&B.
My wife and I were married in Eastbourne.

All Saints / Darley Hall. Its a deconsecrated church where we had a civil ceremony and the reception, very atmospheric at night. The owner was a dick though.

I imagine you and Pinno to be the perfect Eastbourne couple. Sitting in the promenade shelter with a blanket on your laps, enjoying the O.A.P’s special on Wednesday’s.

Missed the bit about me marrying someone else.

We keep planning on going back and getting a room with a balcony or overlooking the bandstand when they have one of their tribute bands on (Queen, the Stones or something).

We have been back many times and always go to the same Italian where all our close friends and family had dinner the night before the ceremony.

Proper family run place with about a dozen staff on tap, all Italian rushing round.

    All Saints in Darley Hall?

So a bit like Oasis at Knebworth but just more intimate.

No. When it was a church, it was called All Saints, however civil weddings are not allowed to be conducted in churches. So even though it's been deconsecrated it has to be referred to by an alternative, non-,churchy name on records. Hence Darley Hall (it's on Darley Road).

All Saints in Meads. Very near where they used to hold the pre Wombledon ladies tennis (Devonshire park). There was a small studio within a stone's throw of it. Used to go there to Jamming sessions.
    Me on Harmonica :)

    What a racket.

It's a nice part of Eastbourne.

They still do the Eastbourne pre-wimbledon tourney don't they? There's a big complex by the theater.

Yes, the tax of a barrel based on alcohol by volume.
    I like McEwans 80/- but it's difficult to get, it's mostly 70/-.

In days of old, 'Heavy' was available in 60, 70, 80 and 90/-.
If you were poor, you would drink the cheaper 60/-.
