Has he got a feeling sorry for himself look on his face in a way that only Spaniels can do?

I think we are the epicentre of the lows. No wind, calm and sunny. Headwind out, headwind home!?

As a seasoned cyclist you know it is always thus.

Busy-ish morning. Got a workman round sorting a few bits on drive and patio, all part of the grand plan to get the place sold. Next up is the garden which has been growing like its going out of fashion with all the bloody rain that's been falling.

    An afternoon of meetings beckons...

Enjoyed my fork/saddle testing ride. Much nicer feel on the cr@ppy roads of Surrey than the old fork, though that's probably confirmation bias. Need to nudge the saddle forward a touch and lift the nose a bit.

Will amuse myself by wrapping my bars with new tape later.

if they poo every where at least it means the staff can burn it too cook on so its keeps their 'leccy bills down to us, we still charge them standard rate.

Are you sure that's wise? Not that I'm questioning your ability more that there was nothing wrong with what;s on there. I like that Lizard Skins tape, mine stayed on until it was worn through. Did mean to comment on the lack of end plug, bars will make a nasty hole in you in the event of an off. Even with end plugs fitted I had a dent in my leg for a couple of years after coming to a too sudden stop.

It's all worn through on the tops behind the hoods and on the outer curve of the drops. Probably more cosmetic than anything else - though I don't wear gloves in summer, and my hands get a bit of a battering on the rubbish road surfaces. I got some new lizard skins with all the other gubbins I bought. Yeah, I put in a bar end plug before going out today - must have fallen out in the car, but I can't find it.

I managed to put a massive hole in my leg with x-lite bungs on my mountain bike many years ago - remember calling my boss to explain I wasn’t coming into work today (Friday) as I was in hospital having an operation, his response was just ‘see you Monday’ 😂

The MTB has end plugs that take bottle tops on them, so once they get scratched and bashed I have to drink more beer 🍻
