Hello knowledgeable types.
My 105 disc brake caliper has decided to spit its oil out from around the piston somewhere, so firstly is the caliper now for the tip and a new one needed, or is it salvageable?
Secondly, given I have just looked online and the 105, Ultegra and even Tiagra flat mount calipers seem to be as available as rocking-horse shyte, would a Deaore XT be an adequate replacement?
The webpage does say 'Same frame requirement as road flat mount' so I presume so?
https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/deore-xt-m8100/BR-M8110.html
I wanted to snap one up asap just in case I'm left waiting months for a new one (should I need it). I can always flog it on if not needed.

Yes, should be fine. I’ve got a Deore post mount coupled to my 105 R7000 levers...0

I'm in the same boat. I stripped the caliper down and the piston was badly cracked (possibly caused by the pad block slipping during bleeding).
Am currently waiting on a piston to arrive from AliExpress (cost about £9 all in) so will report back once it's fitted.0 -
AliExpress piston is garbage So I'm hunting for a caliper now too.0
