    The West Wing. Completely different kind of programme, but also amazingly written and acted.

    Many US viewers didn't realise that Damien Lewis wasn't a yank.

    I watched a few episodes of The Pacific, but it didn't take.

    Best thing about the pacific was how well it gave the idea that it was a very different theatre of war to Europe. Both were amazing series!

    And 💯 agree on the west wing too

    West Wing is utterly and totally brilliant. A staple favourite over the decades.

    My sister had the complete box set of it on DVD (along with piles of other TV series), which I inherited. Gave it away unopened to a friend. :)

    Seriously, there are very few topics I find less interesting than politics.
