Off work today and it was supposed to be as nice as yesterday but isn't.
Might take MrsHD out on her bike later for a quick spin and a coffee.

Currently trialling a dry spell to see what difference it makes. I've had trouble lately with the preservatives used in wine which are (I suspect) the cause of some disconcerting side effects.

Because I drink too much on a daily basis. By "too much" I mean more than government "safe" guidelines, which are what, no more than 3-4 units in a day, and no more than 14 units in a week. I drink 2.5 -10 units per day, depending on what I have to do the next day. A bad week is towards the top end of that range each day. Not enough that I can't function - for me to be actually drunk is rare as rocking horse shyte, but enough to be poisoning me, leaving me tired and grumpy. I think there's a somewhat bonkers study out there by a Finnish doctor (it would be a Finn...) who reckons adverse health effects only really kick in when you are drinking >10 units per day every day.

A month off "re-sets" my brain, gives my liver a break, puts me in a more positive mindset, reduces anxiety. I will sleep better. I will lose weight. I will eat less junk.

You never know, that month might just continue into 6 weeks, and on into 2 or 3 months. It has done before.

Here endeth the lesson. Though, I don't intend to preach, this works for me. :)

Should have picked February, only 28 days off.

Tip queue 'only' 30 minutes this morning. Ho hum. Should have guessed with the good weekend weather lots of shufflers heading out on a permitted jolly to the tip with several tiny bags of leaves etc. Gets them out of the house I suppose. But into the queue in front of me...

    And chill.

Reminded me to check to. Some guys been off for the last year with "stress". Obviously I don't know the reasons etc, but please or wise one, tell me your secrets! A year off for stress sounds good to me.

We had a guy who was off for a couple of years due to anxiety, he worked when he could which would sometimes be for a couple of weeks at a time before he was ill again.
It wasn't quite the holiday it sounds as when he wasn't in he could barely get out of bed and was only sleeping 1 or 2 hours a day :disappointed:

Yeah I know its not a joking matter, from my sleuthing appears he has been been inactive work wise for so long his laptop an accounts have all been disabled due to inactivity.
Having a form of BPD I know getting up sometimes in itself can be a full no go. an other times you can go for days with no sleep etc.
