Drinkies last night so slow start today, had a ride planned but now sat in front of the fire instead.

cold, wet, sleet, decorating. maybe selling a bike to someone.
apart from that, keeping head down tbh...
I do like the look of your 'winter bike' gimme gimme
however, i have sold the old communter - bit sad due to emotional attachment but that is outweighed by financial gain.
have to plough £30 into it pre-sale though

If I'd looked at the thread before taking the picture of the parakeets I would have held up my coffee cup to make the picture even worse.
Took the shorter route back along the roads, not as nice but about half the distance. Not many golfists out today, lots of snowmen in the park.

I got it from a charity shop and adopted Justin as my nom de guerre for all things space related.
when i'm drinking from it i'll only answer to the name of Justin and when I ask for it I'll only say "please can you pass me Justin" and not "oooh, chuck us me mug petal..."..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

Thank you guys - much appreciated. V nervous but its a long term plan - I have to leave current role in 7 years and being 55 far too young to retire (mentally and self respect) so new role would give an additional 10 years working.
Don't think I'll get it but hey, nothing ventured and all that.

You can get your pension though then?MattFalle said:Thank you guys - much appreciated. V nervous but its a long term plan - I have to leave current role in 7 years and being 55 far too young to retire (mentally and self respect) so new role would give an additional 10 years working.

Ain't gonna be no pensions by then. The magic money tree will have been uprooted, set on fire and chucked over the neighbour's fence long before.0

Yup so would be pension on top of civvie salary - its what I always say to youngsters: sign up, do your 24, get out at mid 40s with full service pay off and pension and do a job you want to do, not one you have to do.elbowloh said:

If I stayed in until I'm 55 I'll have a 17/18 year pension but who - apart from B&Q - is going to employ an institutionalised 55 year old?
This way I get out with a 12 year pension, slide into Reservist service in senior role, get new civvie career.
If it works out ........The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

There must be a B&Q not that far from you, surely?MattFalle said:

Although I've heard a lot of ex-military types end up in recruitment, so the alternative is to go and work with Richard.
Still not keen on B&Q?"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0
