Sabine Schmitz - Queen of the Nurburgring dies at 51. Very sad. I loved her sparkle and grit.

    Ditto.
Wondered why she hadn't been on Top Gear for a while.

Phil the Greek has finally shuffled off, this is bad news as it means several of us will have to think about a new pick for next year.
Another year and he would have got a telegram from his wife.

We'll find out how strict the funeral attendance limits are, I guess.

I guess some of the family won't make it, so there'll be space for a couple of cameramen.

Although if there are camera persons present they might be tempted.....

That's a handy reason to keep Andrew hidden away.

If it is ok for the IRA ..er I mean Sinn Fein I think it will be ok for the royal family to ignore the regulations as well.

She was playing a blinder too.

Helen McCrory succumbs to the big C at just 52.

I don't usually follow this thread, but since she died last Monday, I thought I would add this lady from my formative years, Raffaella Carrà – a bundle of energy and, while clearly being a TV showgirl, was also a free spirit who spoke out against taboos and prejudices, false morals, as well as social injustice and social hypocrisy; and apparently a very sincere person too.

The video shows her as in the late 70s (when she had a hit in the UK with a modified version of this song), but this track is one of several club-mixes of the song which came out about 10 years ago, and was used in the film La Grande Bellezza (2014 Oscars - best foreign film).

    Tom O'connor 81 RIP

I'm really sorry to hear this. I've been on a couple of caddying rounds (fun when I retired) with Tom. He was just the best company ever, terrifically friendly and nice.
Joking and anecdotes the whole round. A real favourite with all the caddies who was just a pleasure to be with.
He was also one of the fastest players I've ever seen.Walked straight up his ball and hit it.... no fairying around.
Btw, this was at Swinley Forest Golf Club where he had a house.... no connection to Swinley Trail Centre but nearby.

RIP to a really nice man.

I was on an evening course in Spanish for beginners with Una Stubbs. She was lovely. I'm not sure she died fluent in Spanish though.
