First Friday of the year.

Happy New Year, all.
A bit of a strange New Years Eve for me. We usually go to my mum's who is 96, but this is the first year she's not been in her own home, she went into a care home just before lock-down and has only been out a couple of times since. We found out on Christmas Eve that she had tested positive for covid, otherwise she would have joined us for Christmas dinner.
Here's hoping for a better 2021, may the sun continue to shine on you all

Have a good day
Pretty sure it's cold outside.
Going to keep up tradition and try to do a double parkrun in a bit, but a made up route locally and on my own.
happy new year
even colder
ride avoiding any hint of potential iciness, cafe, laze, carry on bubbly
Garden is still covered in the white stuff from last week but the consolation is that at the mo it looks as good as next door's who have spent a fortune on theirs.
Made the effort to stay up til midnight but for the life of me, I don't know why.
Cold and frosty and bright here - just slurrrping coffee so will see where we go from here

Frosty here but bright and sunny.
Cafe's open in London on new years day?
That should be banned I tell you. The one day in the year cafe staff shouldn't have to put up with demanding over tanned cyclists smiling creepily and wanting Pineapple on toast.
He's a helpful fellow is MF at heart, some say - including TDV - too happy to be helpful

Will walk hounds once brekkie has been scoffed. Then something else, not sure what. Stropteen now staying another few days as uni has delayed all the practical sessions - she's being a student and still in bed.
Tbf We all thought Pinno was past 'morning wood'
it does shut for some jewish hols, a proper cafe-bakery with a marvellous variety of calorific comestibles
today, coffee and a sticky pastry with layers of dark choc
Late start, pancakes at 11:00 probably duck for lunch.
Or they might've forgotten to switch the sign off from yesterday.
The small Tesco was shut here which provided some entertainment as people were tearing down the road to get there as fast as possible to find an empty car park, then driving right up to the door to check that the big shutters being down really did mean it was closed before racing off again in search of their shopping fix.
Yesterday’s ride was fun
Doesn't look like there's much meat on it.
Traditional slow start was enjoyed. What to do today? Not as cold as it has been, might go for a longish walk, after a short walk with the EPO. feel a bit bad going off without her but, hey ho.
