It's annoying me now that I know the 1996 Giro start but can't say as I looked it up.

Was there definitely not a Belgian start (possibly the 1973 one)?

1996: I knew straight away who won it but not where it started.

2010 was Holland. Stage 2 was the epic echelon stage along the coast that went on for over 100kms. Wiggins lost pink on the run in.
Then the Tour went and did the same route in July and all that had was David Millar and a dog.

However, as to where it started, I have a feeling it was Amsterdam.
Now having said that, I am ashamed to say I have been re-watching the whole flipping race over the past few months.
So I should know, rather than have a feeling.

Gilbert and Paris-Roubaix: I know he hasn't ridden many other than the last two editions.
Surprised nobody has had a guess at the number.

    Giro 2010 - Holland, Amsterdam.

Gilbert's PR starts... surprised about the lack of guesses too.

Merry Xmas to you as well pinno.
Obviously I got them all right, dead easy

The sad reality is I haven't got a scooby on any of them so I'll leave it to the forum brainboxes to come up with the right answers

  • Wow that’s tuf
Thought I’d have a stab at just a couple, but reading through the thread I was way off especially with Q20 (thought I'd nailed that one) no points for me
I’ll have another beer now, Merry Christmas
  • I know the dust has settled upon this thread but....

This afternoon I was browsing through my small collection of Giro Video/dvds and came upon the 1996 edition.
Reading the blurb on the box I was reminded that the race started in Athens.

Yeah, I knew it was that way and originally said Albania. It was driving me nuts so I looked it up, then it was driving me nuts that I couldn't answer as I'd cheated!
