You're probably right, though we are a bit unusual even by Japanese standards. Partly as we have Europeans/Brits in charge on the ground and Mothership largely rules from a distance via loads of detailed policy. So that weird thing about 'non-Japanese' Japanese companies doesn't come into play here.

Regarding the Japanese I've not had much experience with them directly but a cousin in Italy ran the workshop for Honda Italy. He said the Italians working with the Japanese was hilarious. His description of working practices was that if a team of Japanes was given a task to do they would work together and use individual strengths where suited and do the job really well. A team of Italians would fail as they wouls all be far too busy trying to make sure the others did the work for them whilst they slacked off for a coffee and a smoke. But he found the Japanese as individuals would struggle to get started whereas a lone Italian with nobody to fob stuff onto would work better. Obviously this wasn't in upper management.

I don't think she's used to being dropped, but I knew when I got with her that she had a reputation for being "challenging".
I was a bit worried that her father, who has been kind enough to invest quite a considerable sum of money in me would call his funds in, but he's just shrugged his shoulders and told me to crack on. He is the fomer MD of a household name in the brewery industry and has probably seen more sh*te over the years than I ever will, but you always worry what can happen when family are involved. He's mad at his daughter and has vowed to mediate between us further down the line, so I mustn't grumble.
I think the relentless hours she has put in over the 2 national lockdowns have pushed her over the edge. There isn't anyone else involved, she just needs a break from everything, including me at the moment too.
Oh well, we'll see where it goes. There's still a court case to go through next year too, so it'll keep me on my toes.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with ‘er indoors’ CB. You have both been working such loooong hours its not surprising something broke. A break is probably for the best (in the long run).
