    only cosmetic damage. I wouldnt bother if there is no other bike available.

    In case anybody is losing sleep over the developments in this drama:

    The shop suddenly had a few bikes in stock, and a replacement is now on its way.

    So I get to enjoy a blemish-free first ride — happy days.

    That is good news.

    My posh bike fell over today onto the expensive side while I was repairing a puncture. I didn't dare check for damage just stood it back up and got on with things.
