But for something unforeseen, there's just one GC day left.
    Gutted for Barta.
Would have meant far more than one second to him.

But opportunities for Roglic to get bonus seconds in reduced sprints.

Carthy tho. Like Teo, came in as support, gets a shot at the title and rises to the occasion. If he gets on the podium in Madrid that's impressive given who he is racing against and those uber squads.Getting used to seeing British riders on the podiums.

Still feels tight enough to allow people to fight for the win. For Carapaz, as a previous GT winner, hopefully the risk / reward of going all out for the overall will be favourable especially now that there's a reasonable gap before he falls off the podium altogether and is there much difference to him between second and third? For Carthy it could be seen as a once in a career chance for a podium place at a GT (although his recent form suggests he could become a contender) and he might settle for what he has. On the other hand it could be seen as an unexpected chance to win a GT and again justify the risk of going for it. Chances are so limited though and as Rich points out there are stages where Roglic could take bonus seconds. Martin could be the wild card, towards the end of his career and no GT podium to date it must be worth him going all in surely?

Pity Barta did not win given it was so close.

Carthy didn’t look like a man settling for podium in Friebe interview.

His team will make sure he doesn't risk it though.

Froome doesn't look like a guy who is going to win the tour next year

99% sure Froome was qouted as saying he was going to take it easy in the TT as he was saving himself to help Carapaz in the upcoming stages.

Yeah, I only saw this after I'd picked him for PTP d'oh. Something along the lines of "wish I could have gone full gas but saving it for the rest of the week"

There's a video of him chatting to a fan whilst out of the saddle on the climb, which makes me think he's telling the truth on that.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

    Not really a 'chat' but...

(damn impressive from the fan though!)

It sounds like his disc wheel is made of old dustbin lids

His heart rate barely got above 130 the whole way around.

Haha, the road surface looked like a ‘tamped’ concrete finish , that must be the source of the resonance .
