Vaughters thinks Carthy is underrated as a TTer..."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -

Cavagna changes to his road bike. Looked like a decent switchover.
About 42:45 under the red kite - should take the lead by 1 and a half minutes, more or less.0 -
Froome doesn't look like a guy who is going to win the tour next year"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. Did they really do the planche in 16 min .. one forgets how madly fast these guys are .RichN95. said:Pross said:
Was wondering the same . I should think so, they did for the one in the the Tour at La Planche and that was less severe wasn't it albeit longer?Dorset_Boy said:Another brutal Vuelta hill to finish the TT.
Bike changes at the bottom again?
la Planche is 16 minute. ClimbThis won’t be, but I’m not sure you’d get up it on TT bike that you would use for the first 30km. It’ll be more about changing gears than bikes."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. 47:37 for Cavagna, so he takes the lead. That last kilometer took almost 5 minutes.0

Looks like Froome is also riding the TT bike the whole way.0
-
Think people have been saying that every time they watch him ride (aka pushing a shopping trolley). Lets see what 8 months bringsmididoctors said:Froome doesn't look like a guy who is going to win the tour next year

Doesn't look like he's riding this full gas though does it.amrushton said:

Koen de Kort and Chris Froome in a mock sprint to the line. Never seen that in a time trial before.0
-
Nelson Oliveira (one of three Oliveiras, no relation to the other two) is the quickest at the first check with 14:37. The course suits him - he missed out on a WCh medal in Bergen by 7 seconds IIRC.0
-
Looks as if Nelson Oliveira is heading for the hot seat."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0
-
And he gets the best bike change of all the stage contenders thus far.0
-
46:49 by Oliveira is now the time to beat.
Will Barta level pegging at both intermediates.0 -
And he shaves 9 seconds off (46:40). Only Rog is a possible spoiler for the stage, I think.0
-
Carthy has started quickly - 11 seconds behind Barta at the first check. 2 seconds quicker than Rog.0

Carthy and Roglic neck a neck with the rest losing significant time."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0
-
Carthy 18 seconds behind Barta at the second check, just a second behind Rog. They're the two fastest GC guys right now.0
-
Rog appears to be gaining on all his GC rivals at a quicker rate now.
Pretty slick bike change for Carthy. Just as good a change for Rog, if not a tad better.0 -
Has Roglic learned his lesson and now wont blow on the final climb, instead he's held back and will decimate the others?2015 Canyon Nerve AL 6.0 (son #1's)
2011 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc (son #4s)
2013 Decathlon Triban 3 (red) (mine)
2019 Hoy Bonaly 26" Disc (son #2s)
2018 Voodoo Bizango (mine)
2018 Voodoo Maji (wife's)0 -
Kind of looks that way.larkim said:Has Roglic learned his lesson and now wont blow on the final climb, instead he's held back and will decimate the others?
A much better bike change although his pusher needs more practice."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Good change for Carapaz too. The top three are looking set to move further ahead of D Martin / Mas.0
-
Mas 48:22
Martin 47:56
Carthy 47:04
Roglič 46:39 (and stage win #4 by a second!)
Carapaz 47:280 -
Roglic by 1 second...0
-
But for something unforeseen, there's just one GC day left.
Gutted for Barta.
Would have meant far more than one second to him."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
I think that is game, set and match to the ski jumperIt's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0
-
I reckon Carapaz will be happy with that. I honestly thought Rog would take a minute and a half out of him.0
