Heartrate or cadence

Hi all,
After a bit of advice on trying to improve my overall cycle fitness
Would I be better finding my ideal HR and using that as my training zone or trying to keep to a certain cadence throughout each ride

Cadence is a waste of time... you have your own, I have my own and neither is better than the other.
Heart rate is mostly a precautionary thing, as training tool is not very useful
