Wiggo used clip ons on a road bike to win his Paris Nice on the Eze didn't he?

Chopped the bottom of the road bars off too for maximum weight marginal gain

Movistar should get the first ever Haimar Zubeldia team award.

I was preparing my traditional end of Tour team reports yesterday and made exactly that point.

No 30 Km flat section though . Position on tt rig is paramount according to Mr Boardman .

Think most of the GC will do a bike swap on this.

Most likely. It's about a 36-38 minute flat section followed by a 15-16 minute climb.
Should uci put a block on this bike swap halfway nonsense?
I know I’ll be excommunicated for this but I would like to see no bike changes, other than identical replacements, for the entire event. Not I’m not suggesting no TT bikes but if you choose one then that is what you ride for the 3 weeks.

Wheel changes, cassette changes are fine by me as that is within the realms of the less well funded. We have seen at least one team in the Giro Rosa riding the TT on road bikes because they couldn’t afford the TT stuff and suffer as a result

    Not that it will happen

  • Asgreen - in the National champs jersey he's wearing every other day as well.

Just for the record, the DK TT champs hasn't been run yet this year.

  • Eurosport suggesting there's a mandated section of the course for bike changes? If so it's beyond the KOM timing point, for those wondering about Carapaz's tactics.

Eurosport are saying that there is no designated area for bike changes but there is a 5 second limit on the mechanic push

  • Should have caveated it with Carlton suggesting, shouldn't I?

DK TV has talked to Ineos and Carapaz will swap already after 20km, to get in tune with the bike. There's also a small climb at 24km, the course isn't entirely flat before the last 6km

^ ^ ^ good CX skills from Lil' Pete...

Nothing will ever beat that Cancellara bike change from Roubaix though

(Can't find a vid anymore because it's swamped by stupid people videos

  • Cavagna's having a heck of a ride.

Meanwhile, on the subject of fast bike changes:

  • Cavagna goes fastest by around three minutes. TT bike the whole way, for those keeping score.

I like the bike change dilemma

    The hard men wont change
  • Anyone found anywhere showing the climb times? I can't even find a live timing site that shows the splits. Intermediate times only, and work it out yourself :-(
