Toe numbness after Rafael Tunnel Surgery.

Been away from cycling for 2years after foot surgery,I still have no feeling in two biggest toes on right foot so I was wondering if anyone has(or knows someone ) has any advice on cycling shoes.
I was advised not wear anything too constricting in case I caused further damage.
