Shimano CS-5600 12T vs 5700 11T

I need to buy a new cassette and currently have an old Shimano 5600 11t 10 speed with a 105 rear mech. I can’t find an exact replacement online for less than $80. Can I use a Shimano 105 5700 10 speed cassette instead? If so, anything I need to change on my setup?

I've got a feeling the 5600 rear mech only allows up to 27t. There is a 12-27 5700 cassette available. I have one on my winter bike, which replaced a 5600

@d00d4h I currently have a 12-27 right now. I'll try and look for the 5700.

@oxoman Thanks for that advice. I'll try and look for something with 27t and won't worry so much about the small cogs.

You can also consider the CS-HG500-10 12-28T cassette or CS-6700 11-28T. You can put a longer B-Tension screw in the RD to get the adjustment needed to run the 28T sprocket if you run out of adjustment with the stock one.
