Lactic acid in arms

When standing when climbing steep hills I get what feels like a lactic acid build up in my arms which soon disqppears when I’m back in the saddle. I do regular weight training for my upper body, mainly of the high rep variety to avoid bulking up, and only ever experience this feeling when riding.
Lactic acid or something else?

I obviously meant lactic acid, not lactate as I wrote previously! :D

Lactate and lactic acid are the same thing, it just depends on the pH... blood is around 7.4, so it will be lactate.

The myth that muscle pain is due to lactic acid has been debugged ages ago... pain is always due to inflammation, which in turn might be due to working the muscles too hard... anyway, it's fairly normal to put a lot of strain in your arms when you climb, I wouldn't worry about it

Thanks Ugo. I’m not worried about it but I’m curious as to how I can stop or slow it from coming.
