Rowers have the 2k, Runners have the 5k. What would a road cyclist do as a way of a standard that's comparable? VO2 max for example? Looking for a goal to aim for

    25 good British Imperial miles.

Set your sights on one hour for starters.

    10, 25, 50, 100km, 100, audax.
But they are all different. Runners 5k could just as easy be 100m or a marathon, or ultra.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

10 mile TT is a good benchmark... it's similar to an FTP test in duration (slightly longer), but more meaningful than furiously pedalling like an imbecile on a turbo trainer
